When we were asked to update a few of the guest rooms in a Florida condo, we were all over it.  A trip to the beach to hand deliver the goods - we can do that!  The client wanted to keep her neutral wall color and existing furniture.  Our task was to lighten it all up and make the room more cheerful.

A mix of fabrics from Thibaut, Duralee, Highland Court and China Seas did the trick.  Custom lime green linen curtains with trim tape from The Fringe Market added much needed punch to the dark wood tones already in the room.  The twin beds were updated with custom coral linen bedskirts and white cotton coverlets from Pottery Barn (for easy washing between houseguests).  Oversized throw pillows in Highland Court's Hidden Temple print and boudoir pillows in China Seas' Aga Reverse print added playful pops of color to the top of the beds.  The cushions on the wicker chair were recovered in a woven graphic fabric from Thibaut. A touch of fun was incorporated with a Duralee flamingo print accent pillow.

Accessories, including new lamps and wall decor gave interest to the otherwise boring beige walls.  Original abstract art from Charleston artist WayWay Allen were hung with starfish to create a gallery like vignette.  The prints over the bed, from Jupiter, FL artist Kelly Tracht, were custom framed in white lacquer.  We also found some cool vintage pieces at a few local stores near the beach that tied it all together.

We were thrilled with the way this small room turned out, as was the owner.  Now on to the larger guest room.  Pics to follow soon!
